Florence Chapter Top Ladies Share in the Grand Opening Celebration of a Local Shelter to Support Domestic and Gun Violence Survivors

In the state of South Carolina Domestic and Gun Violence rank the second highest in the nation.
Women are often victims of unwarranted abuse and gun violence. These victims require support from the community to help them get through traumatic events in their lives.
A husband-and-wife team, Lisa and Butch Kennedy, both careered counselors with the Palmetto Hope Network, have years of experience serving in communities across the Pee Dee area to support abused victims and survivors. They recently held a grand opening of a five-bedroom shelter, a place for victims to come and heal for a given period. Three meals are provided daily to help survivors regain their independence and be able to return to their communities to live a better life.
